Amanda Randall makes abstract stone sculptures inspired by plants and fungi. Carving by hand with traditional mallets and chisels, she works mainly with British Limestones. Amanda works mainly from her studio in London, UK, but is also involved in projects in Dorset and Coventry.

Amanda initially contacted Tidal Studios in 2023 through our work with Burngate Stone Centre (whose website we had also designed in 2022) where she was a stone sculpting tutor. She asked us to produce a website for her to promote her sculptures and artworks and to sell her work online.

We devised a contemporary grid design for her site which reflected the artistic nature of her work as well as enabling the images to stand out. We ensured that the design worked across all devices, utilising a 3-column design on desktop, two columns on tablets and a single column on mobile devices. We also utilised an unusual side menu panel which again made the website stand out from the norm.

For the eCommerce aspect we used WooCommerce with Stripe payment processing to handle the individual sculptures as ‘products’. Each individual sculpture displayed several images of the piece from various angles and distances as well as details of the medium and size. Pieces could be purchased for delivery.
