Website Launch for Mark Bauer Photography

Tidal Studios have completed another major project with the launch of a new website for Mark Bauer Photography. Mark is one of the UK’s top landscape photographers and we are chuffed that he asked us to work with him on both his website upgrade and his logo design. As an eCommerce site, Mark’s images, as well as his photography workshops and vouchers, can now be purchased online.

Mark is based in Dorset and he is particularly known for his atmospheric images of the Jurassic Coast although he has taken images all over the UK and abroad. He has published a number of books and has written for many of the main photography magazines; he is a regular contributor to Digital SLR, Digital Photographer and Aperture magazines. As well as also running a number of hands-on photography workshops in his own right, Mark also runs workshops with the Dawn 2 Dusk collective alongside other photographers including Ross Hoddinott and Adam Burton.

As most web designers will probably tell you, it’s the images that make or break or site and we were blessed with some of the best images possible. We kept the web design simple and easily navigable and let Mark’s images do all the talking. The website is both responsive across all devices and is based around a content management system (CMS) to enable Mark to edit the site himself. The main core of the site is based around an online gallery shop which enables users to purchase a wide number of images at various sizes. Mark is easily able to update the gallery himself to add new images as they are shot.  

The site also has a workshops page which enables users to purchase a place on his photography workshops. Part-payment vouchers are also able for purchase. As well as the gallery there are pages showing Mark’s authored books, published magazine articles, commissions and gallery outlets. There is also a news blog which enables Marks to create news posts and easily share them to his social media pages.

We had previously redesigned the Mark Bauer Photography logo which he is now using not just on his website but on his business cards, stationery and other marketing material. In addition we also produced a new logo for Mark’s sister photography workshop business, Dawn 2 Dusk.
