New website for the Big Harbour Clean-up
Tidal Studios is proud to have launched a new website for the Big Harbour Clean-up. This weekend-long event taking place over the weekend of 18th-19th May 2019, aims to galvanise local people and organisations in one big effort to help clean Poole Harbour in Dorset.
With participants throughout the borough, the project has the backing of the Poole Harbour Boat Show, Surfers Against Sewage Plastics Free Communities, the Poole Harbour Commission and Poole Quay Boat Haven. Big Harbour Clean-up is the brainchild of Jake and Rosie from Go Pladdle, an organisation setup with the aim of specifically clearing the Harbour of plastics as well, as raising awareness about pollution locally. With rubbish collection points around the Harbour and with teams on land and sea, the Clean-up aims to create a pride in the community for protecting the Harbour.
Paul and Jen at Tidal Studios first got involved in the project after they anticipated in a beach clean at Lytchett Bay (a sheltered part of the Harbour) organised by Go Pladdle in October 2018. They were so shocked by the amount of rubbish collected from the land and sea, and so impressed with Go Pladdle’s enthusiasm to do something about it, that they pledged their active support.
The website was produced for the Big Harbour Clean-up team as way of showing our backing for a very noble and worthwhile cause. We produced the logo aiming both to reflect the plight of the marine life affected by plastic pollution as well as to hopefully tug on the heartstrings. We also produced a series of posters and banners to help publicise the event.
