Lake Yard is a busy marina and boat yard located in Poole Harbour and is the sole distributor for the iconic Boston Whaler boats in the UK and Ireland. It has a member’s club as well as a restaurant and bar open to the public. Lake Yard approached Tidal Studios initially to help with marketing posters and emails for the Restaurant’s numerous events, including live music, dining experiences, seasonal functions and regular club meetings.
The website was long in need of an update so in 2019 we were tasked with the design and build of a new site. Using the original logo and working closely with the Lake Yard team, we rebranded the marina’s identity across the website and for all other marketing materials. We created a contemporary, bright and nautical look for the site using newly commissioned photographs and videos. The responsive site is based on an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) and has a page for each aspect of the marina’s core activities: the marina, moorings, boat yard, Boston Whaler, clubhouse and restaurant. The Club & Restaurant page features the latest food and drinks menus and there is a blog-style page featuring all the latest forthcoming events.
To help with keeping members up-to-date with the latest news, we linked the events page to the Lake Yard MailChimp account so that regular newsletters could be sent to the mailing list. Tidal Studios also carried out regular work during the coronavirus pandemic to keep website users up-to-speed with the latest rules and regulations.
We have since worked closely and regularly with Lake Yard producing a wide range of marketing materials including a range of advertisements for national and local publications, copywriting for editorial pieces in the trade press, a complete rebrand of all the marina’s information leaflets, signage, various branded stickers, business cards and even a Lake Yard burgee/nautical flag.
